Senior Software Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Java, AWS and React to join our team. Familiarity with GenAI is a plus.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years experience as a Full stack developer
• 5+ years experience designing, architecting and developing backend software systems in the cloud (AWS preferred)
• Proven experience in designing and developing scalable cloud services or web applications
• Proficient in Java and development of services in the Cloud, React (intermediate), Python (intermediate)
• Expertise with Object Oriented Languages and programming practices
• 3+ years experience with RESTful APIs (designing and implementing preferred)
• Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, and working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development.
• Building strong teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent.
• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with GenAI tools is a big positive.

• Managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment, across backend and frontend services
• Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
• Acting as the technical lead for development projects: Mentoring fellow engineers and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
• Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant cloud services and/or web applications
• Experience with Agile Development or SCRUM
• Roughly 40% hands-on coding
• Generate technical documentation to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and other stakeholders
• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
• Leverage GenAI to optimize software solutions where applicable
• Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results
