Senior Data Steward (Mailchimp)

The Senior Data Steward will play a key role to drive our Privacy and Compliance work here at Mailchimp. Working with Product, Analysts, and Engineering, this role will help ensure all of our clickstream and experimentation work is governed. You will be responsible for managing and cataloging data assets across Mailchimp. Working with our engineers and privacy partners, you will help ensure we meet all compliance requirements by designing end to end solutions.

Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Atlanta and Brooklyn offices two or more days per week.

What you'll bring

• Familiar with data governance concepts and have been involved in data governance roll-outs in the past
• Strong data analysis and technical writing skills
• Demonstrated track record and hands-on experience in data management/data stewardship areas, including use of data catalog tools or other data profiling
• Understand data concepts, including data design and modeling, as well as SQL, BI tools (Looker, Excel, Tableau) and working with big data
• Experience with Segment or experimentation tools like Optimizely
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with organizing training programs

• Manage governing clickstream and experimentation events
• Build and maintain processes, policies, standards and roles to enable both data and people to thrive
• Define clear business requirements that can be translated into a technical design
• Identify and/or discover proper data sources and understanding of upstream lineage
• Configure and maintain enterprise templates for data and analytical objects including data dictionary, business glossary, metrics glossary, articles, etc.
• Day to day maintenance of our Data Catalog tool (Google Dataplex)
• Develop and publish Catalog metric and usage queries for use in metrics dashboards
• Provide support via Slack and Jira channels
• Manage POCs for end to end privacy and compliance solutions
