As we accelerate our mission, we are seeking an exceptional Principal Product Manager (PPM) who thrives on challenging the status quo and is laser-focused on making every experience simple, easy, and intuitive for our customers, which includes both developers and businesses. This Principal Product Manager will drive the expansion of our Human Capital Management (HCM) capabilities by building out our data sharing and app marketplace offerings to create an HCM platform that meets the needs of our small and mid-market customers.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience with at least 7+ years working and innovating on a data sharing platforms and/or HCM app marketplace supporting diverse partners and industry verticals
  • Demonstrated leadership and incredible influencing skills in a cross-functional team setting, including extended teams and platform leaders that are not direct reports. Skilled at aligning the organization across the company around a clearly focused strategy and plan for tactical execution; can break projects into discrete steps and focus others on what is most important. Highly self-motivated, able to manage multiple work streams with little day to day direction.
  • High degree of technical understanding to closely collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, and data externalization leaders in both strategic and tactical discussions.
  • Familiarity with both 3rd party developer and data sharing lifecycles, including expertise with successful API design and publications, ability to write amazing API documentation, and being the driving force behind successful partner integrations.
  • Clear and compelling storytelling abilities (written and verbal); able to make the complex simple and convince peers and executives to take action, including presentation of technical content to non-technical stakeholders; able to analyze industry trends, external threats, opportunities, and performance and quickly synthesize information and distill into clear, concise insights and recommendations.
  • Product track record of executing complex product initiatives to designing and delivering delightful experiences for consumers or small businesses that have driven business growth
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn fast (from customers, from cross-functional partners, from technology and developers); Creativity and experience thinking outside the box to solve problems
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of all the interrelated parts and constraints of a business, spanning Financial, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Partnership, Service, customer experiences, customer environments, and technical capabilities.

How you will lead

  • In this role, you will be responsible for the Human Capital Management (HCM) data sharing platform and app marketplace, which include building foundational platform capabilities, modernizing API capabilities, expanding our developer base, and uniquely solving big customer problems to drive real business impact.
  • Define the vision, product strategy, roadmap, objective, key results and success metrics for the Human Capital Management (HCM) data sharing platform and app marketplace and partner closely with leaders across functions, including product managers, developers, engineers, architects, and data externalization experts to deliver on this strategy with measurable outcomes.
  • Be THE expert and sought-after go-to on your customers and their needs, the competitive space, and relevant product analytics and data; share what you know and learn generously; identify and champion new opportunities based on your learnings.
  • Lead immediate and long term product prioritization processes across the business to ensure we deliver externalization and developer products that solve the biggest customer problems, enable a strong market position, and generate durable business outcomes (revenue, adoption, retention)
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation, learning, and a growth-mindset - never settling for the status quo and innovating on the bleeding edge of what's possible; Fail fast. Not every idea will work out but you will ensure we learn and pivot quickly.
