Part of the Product Marketing team for Mailchimp, the Advanced GTM Team is seeking a seasoned individual contributor with strong strategic skills, seamless cross-functional partnerships and executive-level influence, inspiring data-driven customer empathy and a bent for speed in action and results. As a Principal Marketing Manager for advanced user features (such as AI, Marketing Automation, Advanced Reporting/Analytics, and Segmentation), you will partner closely with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and others to lead go-to-market planning and execution for features within this portfolio.

We're looking for a forward-thinking self-starter who has experience translating customer insights into strong marketing plans, with a reputation as an influencer across departmental lines. You'll be challenged to think boldly, move fast, and have a big impact on our customers' lives, their livelihoods, and the Mailchimp brand trajectory.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years of business experience leading marketing strategy development and cross-functional execution
  • Marketing software experience preferred
  • Strong Product Marketing Craft
  • Strong influencing and communications skills across all levels up to executive
  • Experience using deep customer insight and data to inform segmentation, targeting and positioning, and translating strategy into product roadmaps and actionable, cross-functional go-to-market plans
  • Ability to prioritize and make strategic choices, specifically narrowing from a range of opportunities to highest-impact levers, balancing short and long term business outcomes
  • Ability to identify big insights by synthesizing inputs from multiple data sources to unlock growth opportunities and developing the business cases and activation plans to support
  • Strong creative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation and interpersonal communication skills; storyteller
  • Detail-oriented, sweating the details to deliver awesome
  • Strong results orientation and decision making skills
  • BA/BS required or equivalent work experience, MBA preferred
  • Experience with small business a plus

How you will lead

  • Develop deep customer insights, product expertise and competitive intelligence to inform a segmentation strategy, develop winning product positioning, and influence the product roadmap to deliver on the biggest customer needs
  • Own the business outcomes and communicate regular updates to leadership through ongoing forecasting, reporting and root cause analyses
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams spanning marketing, product, design, analytics, legal, strategy, sales and customer success
  • Actively analyze data to generate insights and make informed decisions that drive business results
  • Contribute to a high-performing culture by sharing go-to-market best practices that up-level the team's marketing craft
