Our Analytics team is a growing function here at Mailchimp to support our strategic initiatives, product operations, and go-to-market operations as Mailchimp continues to evolve.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and hands-on Analytics Manager who can bring an understanding of analytics and the ability to apply those analytics to solve real customer and business problems. In this role, you'll be managing and developing a team of product analysts to help them deliver value as a key member of a product domain. You will also be responsible for educating and training other disciplines on data-informed decision-making such as KPI setting, opportunity sizing and prioritization frameworks. As a Manager of Product Analytics, you will be working cross-functionally with other leaders in UX Research, Design, and Product Management to ensure productive cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be able to combine a deep knowledge of analytics with effective storytelling and a passion for coaching and mentoring people.

You will lead at multiple altitudes - as a thought partner to executive stakeholders, as an analytics manager in overseeing the work of your team, and as an individual contributor on priority projects. You'll work closely with other analytics teams and cross-functional partners across strategy, revenue operations, product, data, and marketing. In this capacity, you will be positioned to shape strategy and support initiatives that will help fuel the growth for hundreds of thousands of small businesses.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA. We offer relocation.

What you'll bring

Functional

  • Deep understanding of product data and methodologies, including growth curves, retention, product journeys, funnel analyses, etc.
  • Strong product sense - ability to identify and size new product opportunities to strategically grow the business
  • Expertise in analyzing data from qualitative/quantitative sources, developing actionable insights, and presenting narratives to executive and cross-functional leadership
  • A strong record of collaboration and influencing executive decisions based on analytical insights

Technical

  • Advanced knowledge in SQL and experience working with cloud based data warehouses
  • Experience building data infrastructure, defining KPIs, and tracking business performance
  • Experience with business case modeling and market/opportunity sizing
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (Tableau/Looker) and dashboard development
  • Experimentation and statistical experience and in-depth knowledge

Soft Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with non-technical colleagues to analyze data and solve problems
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to gain trust and influence others;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present and communicate data to senior management

Work/Education

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an analytics-focused role, 2+ years of managing an analytics team
  • Prior work experience in a SaaS company and product analytics function preferred.
  • You have a Bachelor's or Graduate degree, Field of Studies required: In a quantitative field or commesurat experience such at Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Applied Math, Econometrics or Operations Research.

How you will lead

Partnership & Management

  • Build relationships and provide analytical guidance to business stakeholders and leaders
  • Grow the Product Analytics team both through hiring and coaching, training and mentoring existing team members with functional teams they support
  • Manage team capacity planning and staffing

Analysis & Insights

  • Build analysis plans for individual or team analysis projects
  • Facilitate insight generation from KPIs, decomposing trends and underlying drivers
  • Using a combination of SQL, Excel/Sheets, and Tableau, analyze multiple kinds of data sets to provide a complete picture of user behavior
  • Design experimentation initiatives, develop experiment tracking, analyze results and present recommendations
  • Partner with data engineering to plan and build data infrastructure to support customer engagement, product use, and revenue analytics
  • Partner with Data Science teams to work on models analyzing product performance
  • Lead the development of Product reporting (e.g., Tableau & Qlik Sense dashboards, visualizations)
  • Drive methodology iteration and build templates for common analysis projects
  • Identify and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative research and trends related to the business
  • Craft narratives and recommendations from analyses, build presentations, and present findings to business stakeholders to drive business decisions
