Android Developer Lead (Contract)

We're looking for an Android Developer Lead to join our team! This role will involve both technical leadership and hands-on coding.

Intelliware is a business and technology consulting firm headquartered in Toronto. We have an exceptional 30+ year delivery track record in custom software development, deep technical expertise and disciplined delivery and technical engineering practices.

At Intelliware you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a top-notch team building a new mobile service offering. We have virtual collaborative project rooms where you’ll work closely with a cross functional team including client subject matter experts, end users, and IT teams to deliver proof-of-concept prototypes through bulletproof, long living, high volume production applications.

While working with a team in an Agile environment, you will be:

  • Providing technical leadership, clarity and direction for the team and client
  • Facilitating design/architecture discussions
  • Developing creative, innovative and practical mobile solutions
  • Estimating, tasking and prototyping
  • Contributing clear and maintainable code to a shared codebase
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members on features, design and implementation
  • Clarifying requirements with team and client representatives
  • Investigating, learning and applying new technologies/processes

’Must Have’ Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience leading the development and release of native mobile applications with Android
  • Strong experience and expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience working with Android Studio or other mobile IDE
  • Strong understanding of MVVM
  • Experience working with different stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
  • Knowledgeable and interested in User Experience best practices and design
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring other developers

’Nice to Have’ Skills/Experience:

  • Exposure to and enthusiasm for Agile approaches to software development e.g. testing, continuous integration, project rooms, pair programming, etc.
  • Fluent and current in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience developing and releasing a native mobile application in iOS, React Native, Ionic, or Flutter
  • Experience with Social Network APIs such as Google APIs, Facebook and Twitter
  • Experience with distributed version control
  • Experience releasing to Google Play Console or iTunes App Store
