Our Test Solutions Development Team, within the Platform Engineering Development Group in DPEA Engineering and Operations; engineers, delivers, and supports world-class platform and component building blocks, aligned to DCAI's roadmap and strategies.

We define and execute the test life cycle from up front pathfinding and test module development, through deployment and sustaining.

Test Software Release automation Engineer (Validator):
As a Software Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through rigorous testing and validation processes.

Your primary role will involve designing and executing test plans, analyzing software requirements, and conducting comprehensive system and integration tests.

Additionally, you will play a key role in defining and overseeing the test software release process, ensuring that all releases meet quality and security standards and are delivered in a timely manner.

You will also lead the effort to incorporate automation into the release process, streamlining and optimizing the overall release workflow.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively with cross-site teams.

Technical skills in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python are required for creating test scripts and performing test automation.

Familiarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) practices and build automation tools will be essential for optimizing the release process and achieving efficient software delivery.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are also essential for effectively collaborating with the development team, documenting and communicating software defects, and providing clear and concise testing reports.

Attention to detail, exceptional analytical abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality software are also crucial for success in this role.

The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure software quality and reliability through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Design and execute test plans, analyze requirements, and conduct system and integration tests.
  • Define and oversee the software release process, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
  • Lead automation efforts to streamline the release process.
  • Utilize programming skills for test script creation and automation (C/C++, Python, and EFI/Linux scripting)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices to build automation tools.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Software Testing Knowledge: Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, concepts, and best practices.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Familiarity with the various phases of the SDLC. GitHub Actions. Coverity / Protex code scans.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and Documentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify even the smallest defects or anomalies in the software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher Education: A master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Test Automation: Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
