The Power Integrity Engineer position involves pathfinding and feasibility studies in package and platform development phases where feedback is provided to package and platform teams on system integration PI tradeoffs. You will work closely with the platform/package power delivery teams to optimize PDN to meet all performance specifications. In addition, you will work closely with the platform power delivery team to provide detailed layout strategies and guidelines during design feasibility and execution phases. You will also work with the power delivery verification/validation team to validate and correlate design margins on all ASIC power domains as well as other platform related power integrity challenges, such as EM coupling due to switching magnetic structures.

Areas of responsibility for this role include, but not limited to the following:

  • Execute on target impedance analysis, transient voltage droop and phase margin/stability analysis.
  • Work with multiple cross functional teams to make the right trade-offs on the system's performance.
  • Relevant proven understanding of HSPICE, Spectre, Keysight ADS, and Simplis simulation engines.
  • In depth understanding of silicon rail transient droop analysis and frequency domain target Impedance optimization.
  • Hands-on experiences with package and board level Cadence layout tools.

You must possess the minimum education requirements noted below and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 6 years of experience or
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 6 plus years of experience with power distribution network (PDN) design and optimization.
  • 6 plus years of experience with 3D/2.5D/2D EM simulation tools such as Cadence Sigrity, and Ansys EM (Q3D, SIWAVE, HFSS).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working with and modeling of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) with emphasis on multi-phase buck topologies.
  • 2+ years of experience electrical circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE, Spectre, Keysight ADS, and Simplis simulation engines.
  • 3+ years of experience silicon rail transient droop analysis and frequency domain target Impedance optimization.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experiences with package and board level Cadence layout tools
  • 2+ years of experience with die-package-boardpower delivery network co-design constraints and tradeoffs.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $144,501.00-$217,311.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
