The Client Graphics, GPU IP, and AI (CGAI) group is responsible for delivering industry-leading GPU IP (3D, media, display, compute) to all of Intel's business units and their market segments, including for the client, high-performance computing and AI, and edge computing. CGAI is also responsible for the development of specialized IP for the NPU (neural processing unit) and AI model deployment across Intel's hardware for the AI PC. Additionally, all aspects of client graphics engineering and management of the Intel Arc graphics portfolio and business are included within the purview of CGAI.

CGAI is part of the Client Computing Group (CCG), the business unit responsible for the full portfolio of client technologies and platforms designed to enable exceptional personal computing experiences.

The Technology and Pathfinding team is responsible for developing innovative solutions through Advanced process/packaging technologies, chip floorplan and board fit constraints to deliver competitive GPU products in timely fashion.

As a GPU Technologist, responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Work with the internal/external foundry to assess and evaluate silicon and packaging technology offerings for their alignment to GFx product needs,
  • Actively participate in Design-Technology Co-Optimization (DTCO) for internal/external silicon technology, including understanding new technology strengths and limitations
  • Identify and drive cross discipline mega innovations that provide significant value for product. This includes various faucets of design including architecture, digital/analog circuit design, place and route, power delivery and thermals
  • Engage with business unit engineering teams to understand product needs and translating into foundry technology roadmap requirements.
  • Understand package/board constraints in Si Construction along with yields, MFU aspects and arriving at best disaggregation options for a product

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree and 6+ years related industry experience, or

PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree and 4+ years related industry experience.

Experience in circuit and transistor fundamentals and APR tools and circuit simulation (HSpice, Fusion Compiler)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced process/packaging technology assessment and benchmarking.
  • SoC process definition and execution experience such as transistor selection, metal stack definition, area scaling, gate density improvement and DTCO.
  • Performance, Power, Area and Cost Optimization experience is a major plus
  • End to End power delivery
  • Understanding board/packaging fit issues is also a plus

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $131,841.00-$210,951.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
