Global Director, Cybersecurity Policy

Global Government Affairs (GGA) is a pivotal group within Intel Legal, Trade and Government Affairs. The Policy and Regulatory Affairs team provides subject matter expertise in Artificial Intelligence, connectivity (e.g., 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi), cybersecurity, standards, Intellectual Property, manufacturing and sustainability policies.

The Global Director, Cybersecurity Policy will lead the development and implementation of Intel's cybersecurity policy strategy across Intel's product portfolios and priorities, including software and product security and assurance. The Global Director will be responsible for developing and implementing cybersecurity policy advocacy efforts with government officials, regulatory agencies, and key trade associations, working in close coordination with our regional government affairs teams and other policy experts, to advance and protect Intel's interests in cybersecurity policy worldwide. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in cybersecurity policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Intel's cybersecurity policy advocacy strategy that advances our policy positions and achieves favorable outcomes worldwide on cybersecurity policy across Intel's product portfolio and priorities.
  • Leverage your pre-existing network for policy engagement with governments; build and maintain strong relationships with additional key policymakers.
  • Partner and collaborate with country/regional Government Affairs teams on government engagement strategies and advocacy activities to advance Intel's cybersecurity policy priorities worldwide.
  • Articulate a clear, compelling vision for cybersecurity policy; draft consultation responses and briefings documents.
  • Facilitate high-level meetings with key stakeholders to promote and advocate Intel's cybersecurity policy priorities worldwide.
  • Represent Intel before governmental bodies, institutions, and industry associations on cybersecurity policy.
  • Lead Intel's strategy for external ecosystem engagement globally regarding cybersecurity policy with trade associations, standards bodies, industry groups and coalitions as appropriate.
  • Lead internal stakeholder engagement and collaborate with Intel's cybersecurity leadership; inform internal programs to align with emerging government laws, regulations, and standards; anticipate challenges and obstacles Intel could face in cybersecurity as the public policy, regulatory and political landscape evolves.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in cybersecurity policy.
  • Extensive, proven experience in policy advocacy.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic advocacy campaigns.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including ability to work with a globally distributed team.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including a deep external network.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment, and comfortable working with both technicians and policymakers.
  • Clear reputation for ethical conduct and unquestionable integrity.
  • Excellent political and business judgement.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for relocation.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, engineering technology, science, business, energy or environmental policy.
  • 7-10 years of work experience focusing on cybersecurity policy in one or more of the following:

    • National/regional government institutions
    • Information Technology sector or other relevant industry
    • Trade associations, consultancies or any other organizations
  • Travel may be required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous high-tech industry experience.
  • Experience representing a large manufacturer or a technology company.
  • Proven track record of leading and influencing regulatory and processes, including successful advocacy efforts that achieved favorable policy outcomes.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Washington: $162,600.00-$284,620.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
