We are looking for outstanding talent to be a part of an exciting time of growth in Foundry Services. We seek an experienced FPGA engineer to design and build FPGA models that are used to shift-left firmware development and enable pre-silicon RTL validation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with silicon/IP design teams, FW developers, and validation engineers while implementing customer designs and solutions.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Builds FPGA models from RTL designs using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
- Develops, integrates, tests, and debugs hardware and software collateral in simulation and FPGA models.
- Writes tests, develops the test environment and hybrid emulation environment, and supports verification of hardware and software/firmware.
- Defines and develops new capabilities and tools to improve FPGA model usability for pre-silicon verification, post-silicon validation, and software development.
- Interfaces with and provides guidance to verification teams for optimizing pre-silicon verification environments, test suites, and methodologies for FPGA efficiency.
- Develops and utilizes automation aids, flows, and scripts in support of FPGA utilization.
- Applies understanding of FPGA prototyping tools and methodologies, SoC integration, RTL simulation, and hybrid emulation environments (virtual platform and FPGA model).
- Collaborates with design, power and performance, silicon validation, and software teams, and participates in SoC and IP bring up, root causes testbench issues, IP and SoC testcases, and FPGA environment issues.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well is good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work cross-geo/site when needed to accomplish results.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree or Master of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another STEM-related degree.
- 4+ years of experience in the following:
- FPGA design and development.
- EDA simulation/emulation tools.
- System Verilog or Verilog.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Python and shell scripts.
- Experience with UVM-based verification.
- Synopsys HAPS FPGA experience

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in Canada:CAD 101,380.00-152,180.00
Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
