Facilities Mechanical or Chemical Engineer

Job Description

  • Sustains engineering support for chemical and gas system operations, maintenance and ownership of system capacity versus demand, and system troubleshooting.
  • Utilizes knowledge of chemical compatibility of materials for process fluids and gases, high purity gases, process control statistical analysis (PCSA), and materials of construction needed for chemical and gas systems to meet semiconductor purity requirements.
  • Manages code and compliance issues related to chemical and gas systems and associated infrastructure and develops and maintains standard operating procedures for respective systems.
  • Collaborates with other engineering disciplines, management, internal customers, and suppliers to ensure projects and systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule requirements.
  • Conducts the engineering analysis, design, and installation oversight of distribution systems for chemicals and gas equipment and systems.
  • Writes scopes of work and bid requests for proposals and oversees projects to meet design criteria, scope, budget, and schedule and reviews construction management documentation such as submittals and requests for information.
  • Directs and executes project commissioning to ensure all chemical and gas systems equipment, components, and infrastructure perform as designed.
  • Creates and communicates project documentation including sequence of operations, installation procedures, and checklists for commissioning and startup.

Normal working hours are 8.00 to 16.30 Mon to Thurs, 8.00 to 15.30 on Friday.
On call rotation with other engineers will be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Hon) in Chemical, Science, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline (FETAC Level 8 equivalent or higher).
  • 3 years of relevant job experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on high purity Gas or Chemical manufacturing or delivery systems would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work on diverse tasks under a highly dynamic environment
  • Technical expertise in chemical and gases
  • Excellent computer skills and strong data analysis capability
  • Statistical process analysis
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to apply them.
