Senior Facilities Manager

Overview

Position Summary:

Manages the daily activities of the facilities and general services department. Oversees the functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, etc.  Hands-on involvement with projects on an as needed basis; seeing the job through to completion while utilizing a strong sense of ownership and pride in the end result.  Oversees contractors for facilities renovation projects involving HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangement, etc.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the operations of facilities.
  • Proactively communicates within the organization the status of projects/issues.
  • Coordinates the company safety team and related activities.
  • Coordinates planning with architecture/engineering firms.
  • Budgets departmental expenses.
  • Facilitates work with outside contractors by soliciting and negotiating bids.
  • Oversees outside contractors during construction or repair of facilities

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise contracted vendors as well as operations staff Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and working knowledge of Building Codes Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft applications. (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of life safety systems Attention to detail

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and at least 8 years of experience in the field.
  • Strong working knowledge of all mechanical and control systems including HVAC, electrical, emergency and plumbing systems.
  • Experience with construction work preferred .
