RF Engineer - Wireless Networks
Role Summary:
The RF Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, optimization, and performance analysis of mobile radio networks (2G/3G/4G/5G), including private LTE/5G deployments. This role involves hands-on work with RAN equipment, drive testing, KPI analysis, and technical leadership in network rollout and enhancement projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize mobile networks across multiple technologies (2G, 3G, LTE, 5G NSA/SA).
  • Conduct RF coverage analysis, parameter tuning, and KPI optimization.
  • Perform Single Site Verification (SSV), drive tests, and field validations.
  • Lead network planning for private LTE/5G deployments in industrial environments (e.g., mining).
  • Prepare and review technical documentation (HLD/LLD) for network solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot RAN equipment (Nokia, Huawei).
  • Analyze throughput, access failures, drop calls, and mobility issues.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for network rollout and performance improvements.
  • Support swap projects and vendor interoperability (e.g., Ericsson to Huawei).
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead small technical teams when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in RF design and optimization.
  • Proficiency in RF planning tools (Atoll, Genex Cloud), drive test tools (Nemo, Actix, Huawei Probe).
  • Strong understanding of LTE/5G technologies including DSS, n78, 26GHz.
  • Experience in private LTE/5G network design for industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, MapInfo, ArcGIS).
  • Basic knowledge of Python and SQL for data analysis.
  • Certifications in 5G optimization, SRAN solutions, and CCNA are a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish; advanced written English.
