The IT Field Support Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support to our Team based in Essen and sites nearby .This role involves to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring the continuous operation of IT systems and providing excellent customer service.

Your role

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

• Diagnose and resolve software issues across various applications, including Microsoft Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and other business-critical software.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN) and assist with basic network device configuration.

• Perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment.

• Assist with the deployment and decommissioning of IT assets.

• Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, explaining technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.

• Document all support activities, resolutions, and asset movements accurately in the ticketing system.

• Escalate complex issues to higher-tier support teams (e.g., Network, Systems, Server) when necessary.

• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach during all interactions.

• Adhere to company IT policies, security procedures, and safety guidelines.

• Travel and execute duties at nearby sites on a regular basis.

• Act as secondary for VIP support with guided trainings and SOPs in place.

Required:

• 5 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware components and software applications.

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).

• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear technical assistance to non-technical users.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks while on the go.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

• Ability to lift and move IT equipment (e.g., computers, monitors).

• German (Fluent) and English (Fluent).

Travel:

May involve travel to nearby sister sites.
