We are currently seeking a Sr. Proposal Writer- HHS to join IPS.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):
We are seeking a skilled Sr. Proposal Writer to join our team. The Sr. Proposal Writer will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and submission of proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) from clients or potential clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills, strong writing abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Duties include:
  • Lead the proposal development process from start to finish, including identifying proposal requirements, creating proposal outlines, developing proposal content, and submitting final proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and subject matter experts, to gather necessary information and develop compelling proposal content.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of proposal templates, boilerplate content, and other resources to streamline the proposal development process.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements and align with the organization's branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Review and edit proposal content for clarity, consistency, and persuasiveness.
  • Coordinate with external partners, subcontractors, and vendors to gather information and incorporate their contributions into proposals.
  • Conduct post-submission debriefs and analyze proposal outcomes to identify areas for improvement and best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to proposal management.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior proposal team members as needed.
Basic Skills & Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of proven experience in public sector proposal management, preferably in technology, consulting, or professional services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft explicit, concise, and persuasive proposal content.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with proposal management software and tools (e.g., Qvidian, Proposify, RFPIO) is a plus.
  • Three writing samples will be required with the application.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with the Health and Human Services domain area
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
