Short Description:
In the role of Senior Project Manager, you will interface with key stakeholders and play a pivotal role in ensuring stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of our DevOps operations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for guiding the team through incident, service request, and problem management processes, while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The following are the key roles and responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the DevOps team: Provide daily direction, mentorship, and act as the first escalation point for operational issues.
  • Incident and problem management: Oversee triage, resolution, and root cause analysis of incidents, ensuring timely communication and prevention strategies.
  • Service Request fulfillment: Ensure requests are completed efficiently and within defined SLAs.
  • Automation and reliability: Identify automation opportunities and collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions that reduce manual effort.
  • Performance monitoring: Track team workload, KPIs, and service health through dashboards and reports.
  • Capacity planning: Conduct regular forecasting and maintain resource profiles to support delivery and hiring decisions.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Process improvement: Champion ITIL-based best practices and drive continuous improvement across DevOps workflows.
  • Compliance and standards: Ensure adherence to internal policies and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Team development: Foster an inclusive culture, support skill development, and contribute to performance reviews.
Skills /Competencies:

Essential:
  • At least 8 years of experience with Information Technology in application development and maintenance projects.
  • Experience in managing project day-to-day project operations, including scheduling, engagement with key stakeholders and vendors and leading project deliverables.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or IT Operations leadership role.
  • Strong grasp of ITIL frameworks, with a focus on incident, problem, and request management.
  • Familiarity with workforce management strategies and capacity planning tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using metrics reporting and dashboarding tools such as Power BI and ServiceNow dashboards.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Preferred :
  • Prior application maintenance experience in mining industry.
  • Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.

Additional Skills:
  • Excellent customer interfacing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
