Role Summary:
The Radio Trunking Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, and integration of radio access systems, including private LTE/5G networks and trunked communications. This role supports mission-critical deployments in industrial environments, ensuring reliable and secure wireless connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize private LTE/5G networks for industrial clients (e.g., mining operations).
- Lead interoperability projects involving multi-vendor RAN and Core integration (e.g., Nokia-Ericsson 5G NSA).
- Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of radio access systems.
- Support deployment and configuration of public and private antennas.
- Manage synchronization and paging optimization projects for WCDMA and LTE networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance wireless solutions.
- Lead research and innovation initiatives in new access technologies and IoT.
- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Degree in Telecommunications Engineering; Master's in Mobile Communications Engineering (5G).
- 10+ years of experience in radio access technologies (2G/3G/LTE/5G).
- Hands-on experience with Ericsson and Huawei RAN equipment.
- Strong understanding of synchronization, paging, and mobility in cellular networks.
- Experience in antenna installation, configuration, and fault analysis.
- Advanced English proficiency; Spanish native speaker.
- Certifications in LTE, digital tools (ICDL), and synchronization systems.
- Experience in mining sector deployments (e.g., BHP Escondida, Spence).
- Strong analytical and research skills in radio optimization.
- Familiarity with Optisystem, Big Data analytics, and IoT applications.
