Your role
As a Test Automation Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing quality assurance strategies across complex enterprise systems. We are seeking a highly driven and technically proficient individual to collaborate closely with the Test Automation Architect in designing, implementing, and scaling robust automation frameworks.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript), a deep understanding of automation best practices, and familiarity with Guidewire testing and DevOps methodologies.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the QA team.
- Champion best practices in automation, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and efficient test suites.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of the automation landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Test Automation Architect to define and implement scalable, maintainable, and reusable test automation frameworks.
- Lead the development and execution of automated test scripts using Playwright (JS/TS).
- Contributes to the design of test architecture, including framework structure, test data strategy, and CI/CD integration.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between automation strategy and business goals.
- Support Guidewire testing efforts (Claim Center, Policy Center, Billing Center) by integrating automation into functional and regression testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Ensure test coverage, traceability, and reporting using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
Required Technology:
- Proven experience in leading test automation initiatives and designing automation frameworks. Having expertise and experience in below:
- Automation Frameworks & Tools:
- Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, BDD/TDD (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
- Programming & Scripting Languages:
- Java, Python, JavaScript, C#
- CI/CD & DevOps:
- Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Maven, Gradle, Git, Bitbucket
- Cloud & Containerization:
- AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes
- API & Performance Testing:
- Postman, RestAssured, JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner
- Security & Service Virtualization:
- OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, WireMock, Mountebank
Integration of AI/ML models for test case generation, defect prediction, intelligent test prioritization, and anomaly detection using tools like Testim, Functionize, and AI-powered analytics platforms
QA for AI:
Validation and testing of AI/ML models including data integrity checks, model performance evaluation, bias detection, and reproducibility testing using frameworks like MLflow, TensorFlow Extended (TFX), and PyTorch
Test Management & Reporting:
JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail, qTest, Allure, Extent Reports, ReportPortal
Architecture & Design Principles:
Page Object Model, Singleton, Factory Pattern, Scalable & Maintainable Framework Design, SonarQube
Methodologies & Collaboration:
Agile/Scrum, Technical Leadership, Stakeholder Communication, Requirement Analysis
Critical Thinking and Communication:
- Problem Analysis
- Break down complex testing challenges (e.g., flaky tests, CI/CD failures).
- Identify root causes rather than treating symptoms.
- Tool & Framework Evaluation
- Assess tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG) based on project needs.
- Consider scalability, maintainability, and integration capabilities.
- Risk Assessment
- Prioritize test cases based on business impact and risk.
- Decide what to automate vs. what to test manually.
- Optimization Thinking
- Improve test execution time and reduce redundancy.
- Design modular, reusable test components.
- Strategic Planning
- Align automation strategy with business goals.
- Forecast future needs (e.g., AI/ML in testing, shift-left practices).
- Technical Communication
- Document frameworks, test strategies, and architecture clearly.
- Explain complex automation logic to developers, testers, and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with DevOps, QA, Product, and Development teams.
- Translate business requirements into testable automation goals.
- Mentoring & Leadership
- Guide & mentor QA engineers.
- Conduct code reviews and training sessions.
- Stakeholder Reporting
- Present test coverage, defect trends, and ROI of automation.
- Use dashboards and metrics to communicate progress and quality.
- Conflict Resolution
- Navigate differing opinions on tools, processes, or priorities.
- Advocate for quality without being rigid.

A test automation expert who has worked on Insurance domain
Talent with Technical and hands-on Test Automation experience on Guidewire Suite Expertise, data Testing, TDM, TEMS.
Talent with abilities to analyze and come up with appropriate automation strategies by applying his knowledge and expertise to support our customer's needs.
Talent with ability to adjust in continuously evolving projects and work with a team which is focused on next generation testing technologies.
