Examples of key responsibilities

  • Execute and support end-to-end strategic sourcing activities in accordance with the Procurement policy and provide excellence throughout the process analysing information, identifying requirements and opportunities, negotiating terms and conditions, development of Statements of Work and contracting marketing services
  • Coordinate, gather, develop, and share subject matter expertise in marketing procurement with the broader team and stakeholders
  • Help complete procurement diagnostics of external supplier spend in various countries to identify both strategic and tactical procurement opportunities e.g., identifying better ways to facilitate sourcing activities, category management and through working with procurement colleagues to efficiently manage tail spend
Produce recommendations/options on sourcing activities and certain categories such as in Events/ Experiential marketing, PR, Digital, Media and Creative Services
  • (while identifying associated benefits e.g., commercial, product/service value, risk mitigation and insights) for an efficient long term beneficial procurement outcomes
  • Provide structured and accurate reporting on progress of the procurement projects, issues, and opportunities during regular meetings.
  • Manage marketing agency and marketing services supplier relationships
  • Forging a strong working relationship with Marketing and other business leaders that they work with to continuously identify procurement opportunities for the organisation
  • Act as a trusted procurement advisor to senior marketing and executive level business stakeholders to develop and align procurement strategies, projects and initiatives with the business strategies, objectives, and the project pipeline
  • Have a strong client focus and provide exceptional Customer Services while delivering both brand and quantitative value to the bottom line through cost savings, value add and cost avoidance.
  • Over time when experienced enough on the client's business and demonstrated leadership skills the successful candidate could develop into a position where they manage their own set of countries or a region (reporting to the BMC Director) and manage the client base within these markets. In addition to or separately to this career opportunity for growth, we are seeking to develop marketing sub-category champions who could be the source of latest market knowledge and the supply base as a service to the broader Marketing procurement team focussed on the UK and Ireland e.g., Media, Events, Digital etc

To be successful in the role you should demonstrate:
  • 7 years of experience in Procurement within collaborative, high-performance organisations and ideally having 3+ years of experience with Marketing Procurement, Supplier Performance Management, and category management
  • Experience working within a marketing function or within marketing agencies will also be well regarded
  • Effective negotiation and alignment of supplier terms and pricing
  • Collaborative team player with a proven track record of excellence in managing business relationships and working efficiently and effectively with procurement colleagues, agencies/ suppliers, and the broader business
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and presentation
  • Comfortable working collaboratively, virtually, and independently
  • Strong business acumen and a thirst to clearly understand the priorities of the marketing team and using this knowledge to link business needs to sourcing strategies
  • Being clear and concise in communications, with a proven ability to build effective working relationships to become a trusted advisor and able to influence outcomes
Strong project management skills, including the ability to complete multiple tasks in a
  • fast-paced environment
  • High levels of EQ and cultural awareness to build relationships
  • Effective decision-making skills that increase the speed and efficiency of processes.
  • Tenacious problem-solver with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Managing and reporting sourcing projects with experience in Ariba and Power Bi and or other RFx/Auction tools and execution of online Rfx and e-Auctions.
  • Strong analytical skills converting data into decision-quality information and using it strategically to drive successful outcomes
  • Curiosity that allows you to constantly learn and challenge the status quo.
  • Respect for others and a desire to work as a team with stakeholders and the Procurement team.
What education we look for:
  • Business degree or equivalent. Possessing qualifications in marketing studies would be highly regarded.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a blue chip, global organization is preferred.
Language - Has the ability to speak and write effectively in English to conduct business communications and procurement activities in various markets
