Infosys is seeking a Mainframe Architect. This position's primary responsibility will be to translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks. The chosen candidate will apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, gather accurate requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize tasks and the scope of development. The role will require strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment while contributing towards developing and adhering to best-practices for developing applications that are scalable, relevant, and critical to the project.
Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 7 years of Information Technology experience
- Deep expertise in mainframe operating systems, primarily IBM z/OS (including architecture, components, and functionalities).
- Proficiency in mainframe programming languages: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, PL/I, and Assembler.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe utilities (e.g., SORT, MERGE) and tools (e.g., SPUFI, QMF, File Aid, TSO, ISPF, XPEDITOR).
- Experience with job schedulers (e.g., CA-7, Control-M, ESP).
- Familiarity with SCM tools (e.g., Endevor, ChangeMan, Rational Developer for System z).
- Understanding of mainframe security protocols (e.g., RACF, ACF2).
- Knowledge of middleware (e.g., MQ) and SOA/CICS integration tools (e.g., zConnect).
Preferred Qualification:
- Professional certifications (ex. IMS DB, ISTQB).
- Familiarity with scripting languages like REXX or Shell scripting, AS400.
