Lead Java AWS Developer

We are currently seeking a Lead Java AWS Developer to join IPS.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):

  • Java Development:Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring framework and Spring Boot, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and quality. The candidate should be able to assist the Testing and Performance teams in accommodating all the non-functional requirements.
  • Other languages frameworks: Should have extensive development experience using Java and J2EE technologies such as Java, Angular, Spring, Hibernate, JMS, MQSeries, JavaScript, REST services, and Groovy-based applications.
  • Build framework: Should have experience in building frameworks like Maven, Gradle, and Webpack for angular
  • AWS Integration: Integrate applications with various AWS services like AWS Lambda, AWS EC2, Amazon S3 with Cloudfront, AWS Fargate, and others to build cloud-native solutions in ECS and EKS environments
  • Design: Collaborate with Architects and software engineers to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements while following best practices
  • Security and Compliance: Implement best security practices and measures within AWS environments to ensure data protection and compliance. Should have great exposure and experience in services like AWS IAM, AWS Secrets Manager, KMS, Parameter store, ACM, and AWS WAF.
  • Infra as cod(IaC): Use Infrastructure as Code tools (Cloudformation) to define and manage AWS infrastructure in a version-controlled and repeatable manner
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application and infra components for improved efficiency
  • Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring, tracing, alerting, and logging solutions to the ELK stack and address any issues in AWS environments with infra logging and metrics.
  • Databases: Should have hands-on experience in multiple RDBMS technologies i.e., DB2 LUW and PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, and Aurora
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for design, processes, and procedures related to AWS deployments

  • Should have at least 7 years of experience in Java, Spring, HTML, Angular, Groovy, DB2 LUW, PostgreSQL, AWS (Lambda, KMS, Containerization, EKS, EFS, EC2, Transfer Family ...etc), Tomcat, CheckMarx
  • Experience in DevOps tools stack like BitBucket, Jenkins, Tomcat, CheckMarx
  • Should have experience in using tools like SonarQube, Jenkins, JUnit, ANT, Maven, Putty, LOG4j, JMeter, ELK(Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana), Dynatrace, Splunk ...etc
  • Writing pipeline as code is a must-have experience.
Other Skills Required:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member are essential
  • Fluent written/verbal communication in English
Educational Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. I will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job also entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
