SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Lab Owner, Android Ecosystem and ITS Test Engineering
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lab Owner to take complete ownership of our state-of-the-art Android testing facility. This is a unique, hybrid role that combines lab management with hands-on technical expertise in Android's Imaging Test Suite (ITS) and related test infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader responsible for the overall assets, and operational excellence of the lab, while also possessing the technical acumen to directly support and guide the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our critical Android testing equipment.
As the Lab Owner, you will be the central point of contact for all lab-related activities, fostering a collaborative environment for our engineering and quality assurance teams. - Regular Lab Operation: Lead and maintain the daily lab operations, and monitor the lab DUT's health.
- Process and Workflow Optimization: Enforce efficient and repeatable lab processes, including equipment scheduling, inventory management, and safety protocols.
- Team Leadership and Development: While not having direct reports initially, you will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians who utilize the lab, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- ITS Equipment Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on Android Camera ITS (Image Test Suite) and Sensor Fusion box setup, calibration, and maintenance. This includes hands-on involvement in the assembly and configuration of ITS-in-a-box solutions.
- Test Environment Setup: Configure and maintain a variety of Android test environments, including setting up devices with appropriate software builds, enabling developer options, and proficiently using Android Debug Bridge (ADB) for device management and log analysis.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to test equipment hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline test setup, execution, and data collection.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all lab equipment, test setups, and standard operating procedures.
- Compliance and Compatibility: Stay current with the latest Android Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) and Vendor Test Suite (VTS) requirements and ensure the lab is equipped to perform necessary compliance testing.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
