We are currently seeking a Java AWS Developer to join IPS.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):
The Java Technology Lead is responsible for designing new architectures, and developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-performance mission-critical applications to meet the company's strategic objectives. Able to perform deployment and automate the deployment function. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the technologies involved and SDLC models (Waterfall and/or Agile).

Basic Skills & Qualifications (the skills which are required to be successful in this role):
  • 4+ years of experience in Design and development using object-oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Java architecture and frameworks. Maintain and contribute to the product platform as necessary.
  • Design a new architecture based on the project need and implement the plan.
  • Develop database stored procedures and SQL scripts that meet database standards to implement product requirements.
  • Maintain and support products that are released to stakeholders and customers.
  • Design and implement cloud-based architecture based on the product requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions among other Java and database developers to exchange new ideas and improvements.
  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be used to strengthen technology platforms and development practices.

Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
  • 4+ Years of work experience in software development life cycle.
  • 4+ years of experience in Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
  • 4+ years of experience in Java, Spring, and MVC.
  • 3+ years of experience in Oracle or Postgres DB.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing, hosting, and debugging Web services (Rest/API).
  • 4+ years of experience in AWS or Azure cloud knowledge.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on programming/scripting experience skills - JavaScript, JQuery.
  • Experience in Performance tuning in SQL and C#
  • Experience in JQuery, javascript, and Spring framework (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Batch).
  • Experience in JPA/Hibernate.
  • Experience in React/Redux or Angular.
  • Good expertise in impact analysis due to changes or issues
  • Knowledge of Java/Python and understanding of AWS SDK for Python
  • Experience in serverless development (AWS Lambda).
  • Experience on cloud databases like PostgreSQL
  • Implement the application's CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stack.
  • Experience in cloud formation, AWS pipeline, Code Commit, SNS, SQS, SES, Cloud watch, Cloud Trial, and Cloud front.
  • Knowledge of SQS and Step Functions.
  • Knowledge of AWS IAM.
  • Experience in EC2 and EBS.
  • Knowledge of AWS ECS, VPC.
  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
  • Experience using DevOps tools during Migration/Modernization.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies
  • Experience in cloud-native databases (DynamoDB, AWS RDS, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on development, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to work in a team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment
  • Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to diverse teams namely, technical, business, and management teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
  • Knowledge of software development/ implementation processes to appreciate and apply the processes.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
