Role: - Batch operations analyst
24/7 rotating shift requirement
Location: - Melbourne
Status - 6 Months fixed term, extendable based on project requirement
NOTE - Only applicants with Australian Citizenship and Baseline clearance holder will be considered for the role.
JOB DESCRIPTION: -
You will work as an individual contributor provide organizational-related support or service (administrative or clerical).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage, and support mainframe batch operations and job scheduling.
- Perform incident and problem management related to mainframe applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve JCL, job failures, abends, and performance issues.
- Execute Production changes and deployments in coordination with application teams.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of batch processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Document procedures, issue resolutions, and maintain operational runbooks.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis, if required
- Hands-on experience in Mainframe environments (z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF).
- Strong knowledge of JCL, REXX, VSAM, COBOL (preferred), and batch job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
- Experience in production support and incident management
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to identify areas for improvement in processes Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to work under a rotating shift model.
- An ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents at a one-time, positive, and professional manner.
- Ability to deliver outcomes that match promises.
- Ability to be part of the on-call roster including weekend shifts.
- Interest and/or experience in IT Help Desk type industry
- 2-3 years' experience working in IT Support/ Helpdesk positions.
