Salary Range: 150742- 171215 AUD Annual Gross

Infosys is seeking a dynamic, strategic and innovative Data Architect to work with a Key Telecom client in Australia. The Candidate should have a strong hands-on experience in PySpark and Azure Databricks to lead the design and development of scalable data solutions. This role involves architecting modern data platforms, optimizing data pipelines, and enabling advanced analytics.

To meet these objectives, the Strategist's responsibilities will include the following:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement scalable data solutions using PySpark and Azure Databricks.
  • Design and manage robust data pipelines for batch and streaming data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all data assets.
  • Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of Spark jobs in cloud environments.
  • Lead data modeling efforts for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Establish best practices for data engineering and architecture.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Candidate can be based in Sydney anywhere and willing to travel on demand including to Infosys office locations.
  • Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent will consider work experience in lieu of a degree 15 years of Information Technology experience
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience required in Information Technology.
  • The successful candidate must possess business-consulting skills to engage CXOs, and others P&L leaders on the client's executive team, on the range of issues, which affect their industry in general, and the company in particular.
  • Experience with the following:.
    • Publications in recognized Forums
    • Strong proficiency in PySpark and distributed data processing.
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
    • Solid understanding of data warehousing, big data ecosystems, and cloud-native architectures.
    • Experience with CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices in data engineering.
    • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
    • Speaking Experience in Conferences.
The key areas of experience that the successful candidate should possess are, grouped under four (4) categories:

1.Business Empathy
Have had experience in performing and leading business functions and/or units in one of the following industries:
    • Healthcare and Life Sciences
    • Telecommunications
    • Energy, Utilities and Sustainable Ecosystem
    • Financial Services and Insurance
    • Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods
    • Manufacturing and Supply Chain
    • Have a deep Alumni and Industry Network
    • Have managed a P&L or owned a balance-sheet in a business unit
    • Have led change management and/or managed mergers and integrations and/or led impactful enterprise initiatives.
    • Entrepreneurial experience as a startup co-founder is a big plus
2. Data and AI Savvy
• Programmer
• Education and/or Experience in Applied Mathematics, including but not limited to Statistical analysis, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, etc
• Education and/or Experience in modern data engineering technologies including but not limited to cloud-native data estates, data pipelines, data virtualization, data as a product, data privacy, micro-services architecture, access management, data locality
• Ability to manage and execute technology projects, preferable using Agile Methodology
• Awareness and Research on the emerging technology differentiators to enable AI such as Quantum Computing, GPUs, Block-Chain Technology (BCT)

3. Storyteller
• Ability to engage CEO and COO of Fortune 500 companies
• Developed formal business cases and business narrative, and is schooled in techniques such as Value Analysis, Market Research
• Ability to perform Financial Analysis and create Value propositions for Investments
• Proficient in Visualization techniques to articulate business cases and Return-On-Investments
• Strong presence and excellent communications skills to lead and motivate peers and leaders.

4. Leadership
• Leads by example, conveys and instills integrity, and is capable of inspiring dedicated professional at all levels. Possess a confident, seasoned, engaging and personable style
• Ability and willingness to roll-up his/her sleeves, drive consistent execution of strategic plans and strategies and, "make it happen" in a fast-moving, lean, and entrepreneurial environment.
• Multi-dimensional thinker who operates not only from important past experiences, but with new approaches and developments that occur in a changing and competitive marketplace
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing and retaining a top-notch team. Possessing clear skills in forming and developing cohesive teams of strong, diverse individuals.
• Sound business judgment and prudent risk-taking, balanced by an innovative, courageous, entrepreneurial style.
• Proven ability to influence, collaborate, build consensus, and resolve conflict while maintaining an enthusiastic and approachable leadership style.
