Cloud Migration Specialist

Infosys is seeking a Cloud Migration Specialist.
This position's primary responsibility is to help drive the design, engineering, and deployment of foundational AWS/Azure cloud platform services for a large-scale, highly regulated financial services environment! This role is a strategic hands-on position, responsible for core services such as compute, storage, network, edge, load balancer, and enabling the platform for enterprise-wide adoption. You will architect, engineer, and operationalize AWS Landing Zones, Azure Landing Zones, automate infrastructure deployments, building a robust, scalable, and secure cloud platform foundation. The role holder should be able to research on technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions & should contribute to technology-specific best practices & standards; contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including, reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability and scalability; contributes expertise on significant application components, program languages, databases, operating systems, etc., and guides/mentors the team during the build and test phases.

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS/Azure core services (EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, Direct Connect, Route53, ELB, CloudFront, WAF, or similar).
  • Proven expertise in Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code, or cloud-native automation patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with backup and data protection strategies in cloud environments, including automated backup policies and cross-region replication.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for enterprise audiences.
  • At least 3+ years of IT infrastructure and/or platform engineering experience focused on AWS/Azure.
  • Lead and execute cloud migration projects within private cloud environments.
  • Utilize tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab to automate and streamline migration processes.
  • Develop and maintain IAC scripts to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Provide expertise in virtualization technologies and AWS services.
  • Proven experience in cloud migration projects.
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting languages.
  • Strong knowledge of IAC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and AWS services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms and services.
  • Experience in DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
