Z Linux Brand Technical Specialist

• Identify and take responsibility for brand technical opportunities around Linux

• Work closely with IBM Z brand hardware sellers and business partners to create viable solution designs, and develop proposals

• Work with Account teams to promote the profile of the IBM Z Linux brand

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to customers to deploy Linux solutions

• Support marketing activities such as IBM Think, TechXchange, Z Forum and other events

• Collaborate with IBM account team and business partners

• Working closely with business partners and IBM zStack team

• Respond to RFQ's, RFI's and RFP's

• Follow the IBM quality assurance processes and perform technical reviews of proposals

• Continually update skills and knowledge through education and research

• Create and deliver technical presentations including demonstrations, POCs, Customer/Partner Education, and Workshops

• Ability to value sell the technology in a compelling way to teach and challenge clients with a confidence and a strong point of view

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

Good understanding of the strengths of Linux operating system

Strong Linux specific technical skills and with a high level of understanding of the system architecture specifically:

o Linux/OS capabilities and operation

o Experience and expertise in Kubernetes technology and solutions built upon Kubernetes container technologies

o Business Resiliency technologies such as Parallel Sysplex

o Storage High Availability and Mirroring technologies

Ability to identify, create and progress new opportunities

Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills

Preferred technical and professional experience

IBM Z technical skills and with some knowledge of:

o Linux on IBM Z

o Hypervisors such as z/VM & KVM

o Good understanding of consolidation and sustainability plays and ability to demonstrate its value via demos and PoCs

o Network implementation

o High Availability, DR, GDPS
