Your role and responsibilities
The Lab Technician performs established tests or well-defined procedures, organizes data, and knows what degree of care and accuracy is required. Utilizes computer programs to reduce data and observations. Records and organizes technical data and assists in its evaluation. Receives generalized instructions from engineers, scientists, or specialists. Works from written procedures, schematics, engineering drawings, sketches, or oral instructions. Operates and adjusts tools and equipment used in job assignment. Recognizes proper and improper operation of basic equipment and takes corrective action. Has specialized knowledge of engineering disciplines or physical sciences such as: electronics, logic, mechanics, hydraulics, plastics, metallurgy, ceramics and materials, design, layout, chemistry, physics, or mathematics. Knowledge would normally be obtained through formal training such as vocational training program, military technical schools, Associate degree programs, or other education programs.

Thermal Lab Technician role and responsibilities:
- Performs thermal read outs of existing recipes and configurations
- Analyzes data generated at the various steps of a thermal readout and determine if the data is valid and accurate
- Creates and install thermocouples where required
- Builds the thermal test vehicles to be measured in the thermal read out
- Maintains and updates the Test Vehicle Assembly Processes documentation
- Keeps the Thermal Lab in a clean and orderly condition
Creates spreadsheets or other documents, if needed, that may help them do the above

Required education
High School Diploma/GED

Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- Successful completion of the IBM Apprenticeship Program
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Capable of collecting data and analyzing
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Well organized and with attention detail
- Works well with a team
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Hands-on hardware experience preferred with good knowledge and understanding of basic electrical technology
- Has experience soldering
- Can operate a multimeter
- General knowledge of OHMS Law: Resistance, Voltage, and Current
- Power formulas, Series and Parallel circuit concepts, as well as resistance and capacitance
- Electrical safety- AC/DC basics and lockout tagout
- Basic plumbing concepts to support water cooling solutions
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with good communication skills and teamwork
- Effectively conveys ideas and information, both verbally and in writing
