Your role and responsibilities

Test Specialist, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted)

  • Serve as a team leader and provide direction to team members and coordinate the work efforts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for ITS processing and mentor team members on ITS applications.
  • Oversee, lead, and coordinate test efforts for small, medium, and complex projects and SSCRs.
  • Analyze business requirements and coordinate with business and development team to derive test requirements.
  • Enter test scenarios in appropriate platforms.
  • Attend daily scrum, scrum of scrums, walk-throughs, and sprint retrospective meetings in which the daily tasks, issues, concerns, and areas are discussed.
  • Review and approve test plans based on project needs.
  • Conduct meetings with business and IT teams to review the test cases/test plans and get approvals from the stake holders.
  • Estimate the level of effort for assigned Project/SSCR and review estimate submissions.
  • Coordinate with test data management team for test data needs.
  • Oversee various tests like functional, system, integration, user Acceptance, regression testing.
  • Provide daily status report to stake.
  • Upload test cases, test results in test plan and link test cases to the user stories in Jira or requirements in RDNG.
  • Perform tracking and logging of defects with high level of detail, accuracy and informative recreation steps using various defect tracking tools.
  • Coordinate with respective DEV teams in defect resolution.
  • Monitor test execution activities (end to end) and identify testing risks/challenges upfront and bring them to respective PMs attention.
  • Create requirement tractability matrix and test execution reports.
  • Prepare test evaluation summary report and review with business.
  • Utilize: COBOL, Inter-plan Teleprocessing Systems (ITS), Agile Methodology, JCL, VSAM, and Automation and Provisioning for Testing (APT tool).
