Your role and responsibilities

Our Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentices work in a variety of roles with a variety of technologies. These include:
- Data &AI Technical Sales roles- primarily technical roles, involving skills in varied interesting and strategic areas: databases; datalake; lakehouses; data warehouses

- AI (Artificial Intelligence) including LLM (Large Language Models)
- Assistants, including moving into Agentic AI - Autonomous decision-making agents which complete tasks for the user using automation
- Governance - of AI and Data
- Business Analytics - planning and visual tools
- Business Automation
The apprentice role will involve:
technical skills acquisition, working with other technical sellers with their clients and partners to carry out a variety of tasks including demo's, PoC's (Proof of Concepts), Pilots, responding to RFP's/RFI's (Request for Proposal / Request for Information), Client Briefings, Technical Event & Campaign Management and much more.
Your Apprenticeship
As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice, you will develop a broad range of technical and business skills, including information systems, systems development, data, business organisations, project management and computer & network infrastructure. You will also take modules to develop your skills in a technical specialism.
There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at university and interactive learning sessions.
As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice you will be asked to provide your preferences for a specialism when you complete your application form. The possible specialisms available for this role are:
- IT Consultant
- Software Engineer
* Please note the decision on specialism will be made by IBM reflecting business need. Most of our degree apprentices follow the IT Consultant specialism.

Required education
Pre-University Qualification
Required technical and professional expertise
- All our apprenticeships are office based (if not on a client site) a minimum of 3 days a week, these are NOT remote roles. You need to live within commutable distance to one of our locations.
- Expected locations: Manchester, London, and Hursley (near Winchester).
- You will need to be mobile as all our apprenticeship roles will be client focused, and you may find yourself working at client sites or other IBM locations which could require extensive travel and staying away from home during the week.
- Valid and eligible residency status and the right to work in England
- Roles require eligibility for Security Clearance.
- You must be authorised to work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Maths & English GCSE or equivalent (level 4 or above.). (We may request a certificate of equivalency which it is your responsibility to provide.)
- Achieved a minimum of 120 UCAS points, equivalent to BBB at A level. You cannot have already started or completed an apprenticeship or university course in a similar area.
You don't need to be studying technology, computer science or STEM subjects but you must have a keen interest and passion in technology. We're seeking talented individual who are curious about Tech.
Start dates for 2025
We are looking for Apprentices who will start on the following date in 2025 - please note we cannot make any exceptions to this start date.
- 6th October 2025
