Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable OpenShift Technical Sales Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies who can effectively communicate the value of OpenShift solutions to customers. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, engineering, and customer teams to drive the adoption of Red Hat OpenShift, providing technical expertise and sales support throughout the customer journey

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, demonstrating the value of OpenShift and related cloud-native technologies to prospective and existing customers.
  • Work closely with account executives to develop and execute sales strategies for OpenShift solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical workshops to showcase OpenShift capabilities.
  • Assist customers in designing and implementing OpenShift solutions tailored to their business needs.
  • Provide technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other customer inquiries.
    Collaborate with engineering and product teams to relay customer feedback and influence product roadmaps.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive solutions.
  • Support post-sales engagements, ensuring successful adoption and deployment of OpenShift solutions.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Evidenceable presentation and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences for the purpose of sales.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration, networking, and security.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD automation tools
  • Knowledge of Enterprise AI and associated tooling

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Knowledge of IBM technology and business practice
  • Knowledge of RedHat technology and business practice
