Your role and responsibilities
Technical Consultant, IBM Corporation, Sandy Springs, GA (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted)
- Act as the single point of contact for all client requirements and external third-party clients and update internal and third-party stakeholders.
- Lead technical project activities by collaborating with delivery teams in the US and India, providing smarter technical solutions for production issues, ongoing maintenance activities, resolving production defects within SLA, and implementing minor enhancements following client's defined processes.
- Collaborate with client business to understand healthcare process compliance, attend healthcare audits, identify blockers or repetitive defects in applications, and develop permanent solutions to improve and enhance the performance of health insurance billing, payment, benefits, and claim processing applications.
- Communicate and escalate system availability issues to third-party business in a timely manner to minimize business impact.
- Provide technical leadership to the team for after-release support of projects implemented or deployed into production.
- Analyze gaps in existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Propose emergency fixes and resolve critical impacts or defects.
- Participate in upgrades for internal products and services supporting third-party to keep infrastructure up-to-date for applications to function as expected in production instances.
- Provide subject matter expert support to internal business partners by responding to business partner inquiries.
- Work closely with business partners, developers, and quality assurance analysts to ensure requirements and design.
- Communicate design to all stakeholders and varying levels of the organization.
- Act as the liaison between business partners, developers, and project management groups.
- Work closely with business teams to strategize solutions that support long term business objectives.
- Ensure IT deliverables align with business requirements with measurable results.
- Collaborate with QA team to ensure testing efforts align with system deliveries and business processes.
- Develop estimates for application functionality enhancements.
- Utilize: COBOL, JCL, SQL Developer, Teradata, Microsoft Visio, DB2, IMSDB, SPUFI, IBM Debug tools.
- Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing COBOL, JCL, SQL Developer, Teradata, Microsoft Visio, DB2, IMSDB, SPUFI, IBM Debug tools. $128174 to $162100 per year. Full time. V161.
