In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As an Application Developer at IBM, you'll work with clients to co-create solutions to major real-world challenges by using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems. In your role, you may be responsible for:
- Working across the entire system architecture to design, develop, and support high quality, scalable products and interfaces for our clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for generative AI projects
- Employing IBM's Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability
- Working with a variety of relational databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2, MongoDB), operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android), and modern UI frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, Ember.js, Bootstrap, and JQuery)
- Creating everything from mockups and UI components to algorithms and data structures as you deliver a viable product

- Ensuring the high availability, reliability and performance of systems through Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Implement and manage automation for repetitive tasks and operational processes, reducing manual effort and risks.
- Monitor and optimize critical systems, infrastructure and applications using observability and monitoring tools.
- Analyze and manage critical incidents, leading the identification of root causes and implementation of definitive solutions.
- Develop and maintain SLIs, SLOs and SLAs, aligning them with business goals.
- Work collaboratively with development, operations and security teams to implement robust CI/CD pipelines and promote infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Ensure system resilience through chaos engineering strategies, load testing and automation of failovers.
- Perform cost optimization in cloud environments and improve operational efficiency - Solid knowledge in the design and implementation of resilient and scalable architectures.
- Proficiency in SRE practices, such as defining SLIs, SLOs and SLAs, and integrating them into systems.
- Experience with advanced automation and large-scale infrastructure management.
- Expertise in monitoring and optimizing microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kubernetes and managing clusters in production.
- Advanced knowledge of chaos engineer practices
- Advanced knowledge of chaos engineering practices and resilience testing - Proactivity and ability to solve problems in complex scenarios.
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize demands and work in dynamic environments.
Experience in SRE, DevOps or related functions.
