Your role and responsibilities

Software Engineer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, New York and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted):

  • Analyze client business requirements within the telecom industry and translate them into application requirements; address issues as they arise during development and in production.
  • Perform project requirement gathering and impact analysis; provide time and cost estimation.
  • Conduct meetings for BRD (Business Requirement Document)/Epic/Feature reviews.
  • Prepare software requirement document and design document for the development and testing team.
  • Trace code and understand the flow of control.
  • Support the development and testing team during the project development and testing life cycle.
  • Analyze the tickets and perform root cause analysis and provide solutions.
  • Produce design models supporting all stages of delivery of a new application.
  • Work closely with business analysts, information architects, database administrators, and application architect for application design while supporting lead developers in construction and unit test processes.
  • Ensure all design, configuration, and application change management issues are addressed.
  • Support all the phases of project life cycle using LeanKit, i-Track, and PRISM (Publishing Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata).
  • Coordinate with program architecture team to resolve design and architecture issues that may arise.
  • Drive requirements for security features and functionalities throughout lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, support, and maintenance.
  • Serve as point of contact to client, and the company's higher management during all the phases of project such as Requirement Design, ST (System Testing), JST (Joint System Testing), UAT (User Acceptance Testing), UCT (User Certified Testing).
  • Write HLD (High Level Design) documents and the Interface Application Design (IAD) documents; review test cases to ensure the coverage of each area.
  • Utilize: DataStage, Oracle DB, Jenkins, Prometheus monitoring platform, Oracle Event Generation Framework, Microservice using MongoDB.
