Software Developer - Performance Testing

Introduction

The Camel development team is looking for a Software Developer to join us in our Brno office.

In this role, you will work on our integration solutions built on top of open-source projects like Apache Camel, primarily Apache Camel Spring Boot and Apache Camel Quarkus. Your focus will be to enhance our efforts in Performance Testing of various Red Hat Build of Apache Camel products, helping us build and improve the tools our customers use every day.

As a Software Developer in our team, you will have the chance to work with some of the brightest engineers in the open-source industry while acting as an internal advocate for our customers. We'll need you to have excellent technical and creative thinking skills, as you'll be encouraged to develop innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis. Your role and responsibilities

• Design and development of tests automation frameworks and tools

• Focus on performance aspects of Red Hat Build of Apache Camel products

• Participate in the continuous improvement and optimization of the test automation model

• Act as an internal advocate for our customers

• Active participation in defining testing strategies and plans for Red Hat Build of Apache Camel products

• Analyze and prioritize the quality risks and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks

• Provide root cause analysis for complex bugs reported by our customers, communicate the impact of these bugs to customers, developers and support specialists

• Document new bugs and advocate their resolution and fix with developers

• Welcome possibility to directly fix or guide colleagues around the identified product performance issues

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• University education in IT (bachelor's or master's degree) or equivalent work experience

• Experience with Java and Java EE

• Knowledge of the build system Maven and version control system Git

• English communication skills and ability to read technical documentation

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with performance testing and any of the performance testing frameworks is a great advantage

• Deeper knowledge of JVM and garbage collection mechanism is an advantage

• Experience with high availability, load balancing and clustering are benefits

• Experience with Continuous Integration

• Experience with OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes

• Apache Camel or similar frameworks (e.g. Spring Integration, Mule)

• Delivering technical presentations, writing blogs, or engaging in developer communities
