Your role and responsibilities

Software Developer, IBM Corporation, Houston, Texas (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted)

  • Design, implement, and maintain components for company's object storage subsystems.
  • Tune existing code for better performance and bug fixes as identified either during test or reported by users.
  • Review the requirement with the squad during planning sessions to solidify the requirement and determine an accurate sizing for it.
  • Incorporate Agile estimation and planning technique and identify, classify, and assign the work during planning phase.
  • Design the solution and document it in Jira or GitHub.
  • Review the solution with the squad and modify based on review comments.
  • Implement the solution using tools to code software implementation.
  • Identify new test cases that need to be written for the new function or feature.
  • Document tests, automate the ones that can be automated and execute them as required.
  • Contribute towards implementing health check monitors for company's product, which requires automated/continuous tests running on internal system.
  • Work on rotational pager duty assignments to provide 24/7 support of the Cloud object storage offering subsystem.
  • Utilize: Cloud Architecture, Kubernetes Application Developer, Sysdig, Activity Tracker, Advanced Go Programming Language, Spark with Scala, Fluentd with Ruby.
