Your role and responsibilities

A Senior SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Finance (FI)and Controlling (CO) solutions to support business processes in accounting, financial reporting, and cost management. This role requires deep expertise in SAP FICO modules, integration with other SAP and non-SAP systems, and the ability to collaborate with finance and IT teams to drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 SAP FICO Implementation & Support:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and customization of SAP FICO modules.


  • Ensure seamless integration of FI-CO with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.).


  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements for SAP FICO processes.

🔹 Financial Accounting (FI) Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting (BA).


  • Support financial closing activities, including automatic payment programs, tax settings, and bank interfaces.


  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.

🔹 Controlling (CO) Responsibilities:

  • Configure Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Internal Orders (IO), Product Costing (PC), and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).


  • Define and optimize cost allocation, variance analysis, and budget control.


  • Work on profitability reporting, cost-based analysis, and management reporting.

🔹 Integration & Business Process Optimization:

  • Work closely with finance, controlling, and IT teams to improve business processes.


  • Integrate SAP FICO with SAP S/4HANA, cloud solutions, and analytics tools.


  • Automate processes through workflow configurations, BAPI, and Fiori apps.

🔹 Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Gather and document business requirements from finance and controlling teams.


  • Lead workshops, training sessions, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).


  • Manage SAP FICO projects, system upgrades, and global rollouts.

Required education

None

Required technical and professional expertise

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or IT.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in SAP FICO modules: FI (GL, AP, AR, AA) and CO (CCA, CO-PA, PC, IO).


  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, New GL, and Central Finance.


  • Knowledge of tax settings, bank integrations, and electronic payments.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of SAP FICO experience in implementation, support, or consulting.


  • Experience in full-cycle SAP FICO project implementations.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.


  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • SAP FICO certification.


  • Understanding of ABAP debugging, SAP BW, Fiori, and SAC is a plus.


  • Fluent Dutch or/and French.
