Your role and responsibilities

Senior Performance Analyst, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA:

  • Design large-scale workloads that accurately reflect current customer data volumes and transaction rates, ensuring realistic performance testing scenarios.
  • Develop automated performance test frameworks using scripting languages such as REXX, CLIST, and SOF to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Execute performance workloads and analyze data from various sources including Db2 for z/OS accounting, statistics, performance traces, z/OS RMF data, and identify performance defects and regressions impacting transaction elapsed time, CPU usage, or system storage.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders under the Db2 for z/OS continuous delivery model, develop performance tests during the design stages of new features, address performance issues early in the development process.
  • Document and publish performance tuning guidelines for new Db2 features, assist customer support engineers by analyzing performance data to resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date performance test environments, ensure accurate testing results.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and develop and maintain technical documentation, including workload specifications, system configurations, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Utilize: Db2 for z/OS, Db2AI for z/OS, z/OS, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, z/OS Resource Measurement Facility, OMEGAMON for Db2 Performance Expert on z/OS, IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS.
