Your role and responsibilities

Senior Cloud Services Developer, IBM Corporation, Yorktown Heights, NY.

  • Design, improve, and refactor company Quantum cloud services.
  • Model semiconductor quantum systems, and quantum data centers.
  • Design and implement highly efficient quantum information encodings, and transportation protocols.
  • Design and implement quantum circuit representations for network transportation, and services consumption.
  • Design services APIs and establish the structure and guidelines for service APIs by defining and implementing guidelines, setting up standards/best practices for the development and deployment of cloud services.
  • Lead software engineering team and train junior team members on cloud service development.
  • Assist the Technical Lead and Product Owner in implementing the technical vision and roadmap for the product.
  • Create and implement cloud services that provide significant value to developers and align with the product's technical vision and roadmap.
  • Work within research and academic environments in relation to quantum research and assist with automation and tooling to demonstrate full-stack development experience.
  • Design cloud architectures and maintain cloud services in production.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of cloud services once they are deployed and ensure their reliability/efficiency in a production environment and apply cloud native standards in the development and maintenance of services.
  • Ensure observability by implementing and maintaining systems for monitoring, logging, and tracing to ensure high observability of the cloud services; set up metrics and alerts to detect and diagnose issues proactively.
  • Enhance reliability and design fault-tolerant systems, conduct regular testing, and develop disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop modern cloud services by leveraging frontend and backend technologies (JavaScript and TypeScript, Go, or Rust).
  • Utilize: Software Architecture, Quantum Software Development; Cloud Native (Containers and Orchestration, Serverless, API Gateways); Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP); Software Development Security (data protection, access control, threat mitigation); Backend Development technologies/frameworks (NodeJS, NestJS, Golang).
