Security Consultant
Introduction
In this role, you will transition from IBM's Consulting Apprentice Program into a full-time Security Consultant position. As a former Apprentice, you've already demonstrated your ability to work with a diverse range of clients and tackle evolving technical and business challenges. Now, as a full-time consultant, you'll continue to build on that foundation, accelerating your impact and deepening your expertise.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Security Consultant, you'll unleash your technical expertise to gather and analyze business and technical requirements, skillfully crafting and implementing resilient enterprise-wide access management processes and procedures.
As a valued member of our collaborative advisory team, your contributions will be crucial in establishing comprehensive security measures that safeguard our clients' intellectual property and assets. Your responsibilities may include:
* Collaborating with client personnel and IBM teams to identify functional requirements and contribute to the design and justification of client solutions.
* Participating in a wide range of design activities, from requirements analysis through systems, application, and/or process design specification and implementation.
* Gaining knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures.
Required education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required technical and professional expertise
Successful completion of the IBM Apprenticeship Program.
* CompTIA Security+ Certification
* Familiarity with network design, network security, authentication, authorization techniques, and encryption protocols and standards.
Experience in one or more of the following security domains:
Security Intelligence & Operations Consulting (SIOC)
- Data Security
- Identity & Access Management
- Infrastructure and Endpoint Security (IES)
- Security Strategy Risk and Compliance (SSRC)
- Exposure to software tools such as Java, Python, C/C++, Ruby, GO/Golang, Bash, C#, SharePoint; software code testing and test automation. * Familiarity with network security tools for vulnerability scanning, network monitoring, network sniffing, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection and protection, anomaly detection, and encryption standards.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance with the US government
Preferred technical and professional experience
Knowledge in network design and security, web or custom application development, mobile development, software engineering, identity and authentication technology.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
