SAP Principal Functional and Solution Consultant - Enterprise Asset Management
Introduction
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4 EAM Principal Consultant to support the implementation and optimisation of SAP Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) solutions within a Defence manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP S/4 modules, including Plant Maintenance (PM), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and integration with other SAP modules. This role requires strong technical proficiency, industry knowledge, and the ability to align SAP S/4 functionalities with the unique requirements of Defence manufacturing operations.
1. Solution Design & Delivery
• Lead workshops with client business and technical teams to capture MRO requirements for defense manufacturing operations.

• Design SAP S/4 MRO solutions covering planning, work order management, maintenance execution, materials management, quality, and cost tracking.
• Ensure proper Integration of MRO processes with SAP PP, MM, QM, EWM, PS, PLM, and Finance/Controlling resulting in end to end integrated process design.
• Provide workarounds/solutions for the process gaps in SAP S/4 and review Functional Specifications for the process gaps, if any.
• Ensure compliance with defence regulatory frameworks (e.g., ITAR, NATO codification, export control, FAR/DFARS where applicable).
• Industry Expertise
• Apply deep domain knowledge in aerospace & defence sustainment models (Depot-level maintenance, Line maintenance, Overhaul & Refurbishment).
• Map defence manufacturing practices such as serialised equipment, configuration control, fleet maintenance, service contracts, and warranty management to SAP S/4 functionality.
• Support integration with defence logistics systems, engineering systems (CAD/PLM), and third-party MRO tools.
2. Leadership
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (program leads, defence compliance officers, operations leadership).
• Provide guidance to functional and technical consultants during solution build and testing.
• Build and Mentor SAP S/4 MRO Practitioners
3. Other Key activities
• Conduct training sessions for end users and key stakeholders on SAP MRO functionalities.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP MRO systems and processes.
• Oversee data migration and cleansing processes to ensure accurate master data for equipment, spare parts, and maintenance plans.
• Develop custom reports and dashboards to provide insights into KPIs related to MRO Processes
Your role and responsibilities
The SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Solution Consultant is a senior expert responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing comprehensive solutions for managing an organization's physical assets throughout their entire lifecycle. This role primarily leverages SAP's EAM portfolio, including SAP S/4HANA (Plant Maintenance - PM, Customer Service - CS, Project Systems - PS relevant to EAM), SAP Asset Manager, SAP Predictive Maintenance & Service, and other relevant SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services for asset intelligence. The architect will serve as a strategic advisor to operations and asset management leadership, translating complex asset-related challenges into efficient, integrated, and sustainable SAP solutions that drive improved asset performance, reduced downtime, optimized maintenance costs, and enhanced regulatory compliance.

- Experience:
- [12-15]+ years of progressive experience in SAP consulting and implementation, with a dedicated focus on Enterprise Asset Management solutions.
- [5-7]+ years in a lead architect or solution architect role specializing in SAP EAM.
- Proven experience leading multiple full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) implementations.
- Extensive experience with various SAP EAM solutions, including:
- SAP S/4HANA EAM (Plant Maintenance - PM): Functional Locations, Equipment, Notifications, Work Orders, Maintenance Plans, Measurement Documents, Catalogs.
- SAP Asset Manager: Mobile EAM solutions.
- SAP Predictive Maintenance & Service (PdMS) / SAP Asset Intelligence Network (AIN): Experience with IoT integration and analytics for assets.
- Integration with SAP PS (Project Systems) for capital projects, SAP MM (Materials Management) for spare parts, and SAP FICO (Financial Controlling) for asset accounting.
- Experience with Linear Asset Management (LAM) or Geographical Information Systems (GIS) integration is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep functional and technical understanding of SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) module.
- Proficiency in configuring and integrating SAP Asset Manager and other EAM cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of integration technologies (SAP BTP - Integration Suite/CPI, PI/PO, API Management) for connecting SAP S/4HANA EAM with external systems, IoT platforms, and mobile solutions.
- Experience with master data management strategies for assets (e.g., Equipment Master, Functional Location Master, BOMs).
- Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools relevant to EAM (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, embedded analytics in S/4HANA) for asset performance insights.
- Certifications & Methodologies:
- Relevant SAP certifications in S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) or other EAM-related modules.
- Project management certifications (PMP, Agile Scrum Master) are a plus.
- Enterprise Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF) desirable.
- Proficiency in Agile and SAP Activate methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to address complex asset management challenges.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with all levels of stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to guide and mentor technical and functional teams.
- Excellent business acumen and a strong understanding of end-to-end asset lifecycle processes across various asset intensive industries (e.g., Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Public Sector).
