Your role and responsibilities

Job Description:As a Quality Engineer specializing in test automation, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation solutions that enhance our testing efficiency, coverage, and maintainability. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our test automation efforts across various projects and technologies.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Mentoring:

    • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to help team members grow professionally and technically.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and workshops to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
  2. Test Automation Framework Development and Maintenance:

    • Design, develop, and maintain reusable, maintainable, and scalable automation frameworks using best practices (e.g., page object models, data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid approaches).
    • Select, configure, and integrate appropriate automation tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, TestNG, or custom frameworks) based on project requirements.
    • Continuously improve and refactor automation frameworks to enhance maintainability, reusability, and performance.
  3. Automation Strategy and Planning:

    • Define and implement comprehensive test automation strategies aligned with project goals, timelines, and resources.
    • Develop and maintain detailed automation test plans, considering various testing types (functional, non-functional, integration, performance, security, etc.).
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish automation scope, approach, and resource requirements for each project.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with developers, product owners, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, design, and automation objectives.
    • Facilitate regular communication, status updates, and risk discussions with cross-functional teams.
  5. Technical Expertise and Innovation:

    • Stay updated with the latest automation trends, tools, and best practices.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, tool enhancements, and innovative automation approaches.
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of our QA automation strategy, roadmap, and standards.
  6. Project Delivery and Accountability:

    • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of automation activities within projects, adhering to agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.
    • Monitor automation progress, identify potential risks, and proactively address issues to prevent delays.
  7. Continuous Learning and Growth:

    • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the automation team.
    • Represent the automation team in knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and industry events.
  8. Performance and Scalability:

    • Optimize automation scripts and frameworks for performance, scalability, and parallel execution to support large-scale and high-frequency testing.
    • Implement load and performance testing strategies to evaluate system behavior under heavy loads and ensure system reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong focus on test automation.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience, preferably in an enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools.
  • Thorough understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bamboo).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
