Your role and responsibilities

As a Project Manager [SAP S/4HANA], you will serve as a client-facing practitioner working collaboratively with clients to deliver high-quality solutions and be a trusted business advisor with deep understanding of SAP Accelerate delivery methodology or equivalent and associated work products. You will lead design workshops, support business development activities and mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and knowledge. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing all aspects of SAP S/4HANA project lifecycles from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with client objectives and project timelines.
  • Developing detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
  • Facilitating cross-functional teams consisting of both IBM Consulting and client resources, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective project execution.
  • Managing project budgets and resources efficiently while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Providing expert guidance and strategic direction to junior team members, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Liaising with senior stakeholders, presenting project updates, progress, and any necessary changes or risks.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication, management, and delivery of projects.

Required technical and professional expertise

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (10+ years) as a Project Manager, preferably in SAP implementations, with a strong track record of successful project delivery. Hands-on PMO experience in delivering SAP solutions with a minimum of 4 end-to-end implementations from project preparation to go-live. At least two of these end-to-end projects must be using SAP S/4HANA.
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of SAP S/4HANA, including its capabilities, limitations, and potential impacts on business processes with Artificial Intelligence models and their use in SAP implementation.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop team members.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach to project delivery.
    • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Ambition, excellent leadership skills and a talent for building successful client relationships will be highly valued.
  • Advanced project management certification in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience in leading large-scale, complex SAP S/4HANA transformations involving multiple geographies and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with other IBM or SAP technologies and solutions.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment, understanding the dynamics and demands of client-facing roles.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in areas like IT service management, software development, or business process optimization.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of the consumer industry, particularly FMCG, is highly desirable but not mandatory.
