Power Systems Test Engineering Intern

Introduction

IBM's Power Systems Chain Test Engineering team is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer Professional responsible for developing new and leveraging existing automated processes used for hardware product testing. This position will involve working with IBM's newest technologies and require collaboration across many other IBM development groups for both hardware and software. In this position candidate will support current production processes, setup, validation.

Your role and responsibilities

IBM's Power Systems Chain Test Engineering team is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer Professional responsible for developing new and leveraging existing automated processes used for hardware product testing. This position will involve working with IBM's newest technologies and require collaboration across many other IBM development groups for both hardware and software. In this position candidate will support current production processes, setup, validation, and support within Poughkeepsie MFG facility. Candidate will be responsible for implementing quality, repeatable, and robust processes to enable fulfillment of Cognitive Systems customer orders. This position will also include documenting processes clearly and training manufacturing personnel to perform the overall tasks. Candidate will also be responsible for process automation utilizing acquired programming skills.

High School Diploma/GED

Required technical and professional expertise

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields.

General programming knowledge, especially in:

• Python

• C/C++ programming languages

Preferred technical and professional experience

• An understanding of IBM Power Systems product line
• Logical PARtition (LPAR) / Virtualization technologies
• Storage Area Network (SAN) experience
• DB2 and MySQL relational database experience
• advance networking knowledge
• IBM i and z/OS operating systems
• Javascript/jQuery/CSS web languages
