Introduction

As a Platform Architect with the IBM Payments Center, you will join one of the largest global payments platform teams, driving the adoption of cutting-edge technology across the payments ecosystem. Your role is crucial in helping clients transform their business operations and address complex challenges by designing scalable, resilient, and secure multi-cloud solutions. You will leverage your expertise in regulatory compliance, security frameworks, and architectural best practices to ensure robust and compliant payment platforms. As a technical leader, you will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, guiding projects from vision to implementation while championing resilience, performance, and innovation.

Your role and responsibilities

We seek an architect to join the IBM Payments Center and drive market growth by developing and deploying advanced solutions for payment modernization. In this role, you will architect cloud-native, compliant platforms that integrate AI-enhanced operations, cognitive computing, and quantum-safe technologies to address evolving regulatory requirements. You will also design scalable, secure, and resilient multi-cloud systems, develop compliant LLM applications, and improve secure coding practices to ensure continuous compliance and optimized client infrastructure.

At the IBM Payments Center, we specialize in transforming clients' payment operations by integrating cloud migration, robust security frameworks, and AI-driven solutions. Our platforms leverage cutting-edge technologies, including quantum-safe architectures and emerging quantum computing applications, to deliver future-proofed systems that drive operational excellence. As a Payments Platform Architect, you will guide clients through their digital transformation, utilizing IBM's expertise to build next-generation payments platforms that enhance efficiency, ensure continuous compliance, and support long-term business growth.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Architect and deploy hybrid, multi-cloud, and cloud-native solutions to support payments transformation, aligning infrastructure, systems, networking, and data center strategies
  • Develop detailed Solution Architectures, High-Level Designs (HLD), and Low-Level Designs (LLD), ensuring seamless integration and adherence to cloud-native design principles
  • Implement robust security frameworks, leveraging Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and fully automated DevSecOps pipelines to enforce security, compliance, and governance across multi-cloud environments
  • Apply deep expertise in multiple hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) and multi-cloud networking technologies to design scalable, cost-efficient, and performant architectures that support cross-region workloads and low-latency requirements
  • Engineer advanced HA/DR strategies, utilizing distributed architectures, data replication, and failover techniques to ensure business continuity and resilience across multi-zone and multi-region deployments
  • Enhance development and testing practices by integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate code review, security checks, and performance optimization, driving continuous compliance and operational efficiency
  • Employ chaos engineering principles with FURPS (Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Performance, Supportability) testing to validate system resilience, detect failure points, and ensure optimal recovery under stress conditions
  • Conduct comprehensive architecture assessments to provide future-proof recommendations, focusing on scalability, security hardening, and seamless integration with emerging technologies
  • Support business development initiatives by engaging in technical discovery sessions, formulating solution designs, and contributing to proposal development, ensuring alignment with client objectives and risk management strategies
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, including resource planning, agile project management, quality assurance, and key milestone tracking, to guarantee successful deployment and client satisfaction.
