Partner Progression Marketing Specialist

Introduction

As a Global Partner Progression Marketing Specialist, you'll improve partner and customer outcomes through strong relationship-building, product knowledge, planning, and execution for our partner base. In tight collaboration with our Sales and Product teams, you'll act as a critical resource for our partner ecosystem, helping them navigate all things IBM and improving their experience when engaged with us on new opportunities and expanding within our joint client base.

This role combines partner and program knowledge with content strategy to accelerate various go-to-market initiatives, delivering measurable value to both IBM and our partners. This is a Global role.

Your role and responsibilities

1. Lead, implement, execute, and communicate the Global Marketing Partner acquisition mission & strategy to recruit and activate new and the right business partners, aligning with Sales priorities and Geo goals.

2. Act as the lead to bring together multiple teams in all aspects of the marketing mix to develop a cohesive and integrated global marketing plan (across and inclusive of web, digital, paid media, events, content, outbound, etc.) as collaborate with Geography teams to meet and exceed revenue and objectives aligned to new partners.

3. Help enable our partners to uncover more new business by using tools designed to improve account mapping and identify mutual customer prospects and develop action plans and programs to enable new partners to execute demand gen to achieve their 1st and 2nd transaction.

4. Deliver enablement programs that drive partner success, including coaching, clinics, skills development by partnering with Marketing leadership and Sales.

5. Strengthen partner onboarding and activation to improve their ability to differentiate thru the sales process, by developing, executing and optimizing a comprehensive content strategy to showcase partner program value (program guides, infographics, presentations, web, blogs etc.).

6. Acts as a subject matter expert guiding internal teams and partners, collect feedback to identify improvement opportunities and drive growth for IBM and partners.

7. Analyze performance data to identify gaps, improve processes, and report on impact of enablement, activation and progression efforts.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and open to experimentation and new tools.

• Resilient, self-motivated, and proactive in navigating challenges.

• Strong presence and ability to influence mid to senior-level stakeholders and executives.

• Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years in partner enablement, marketing, or program management (SaaS experience preferred).

• Experience in partner sales or working within a partner/sales organization.

• Proven success developing content and programs that drive partner engagement and adoption.

• Strong project management skills; able to lead workstreams and manage multiple initiatives independently.

• Skilled in onboarding, training, and coaching partners for success.

• Ability to analyze partner data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.

• Comfortable collaborating with sales, marketing, product, and learning teams.

• Willingness to travel to customer and partner locations
