Your role and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in physical, virtual, or cloud environments.
• Perform regular system updates, kernel patching, and OS-level security configurations.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and networking.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems (LVM, NFS, etc.).
• Maintain system documentation and support disaster recovery plans.
• Work closely with application teams to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Support compliance with security policies and conduct vulnerability remediation.
Kubernetes admin:
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters or OpenShift Cluster (on-premise or in cloud environments like IBM Cloud, AWS , ROSA etc).
• Manage cluster resources, namespaces, RBAC, ingress controllers, and storage classes.
• Monitor cluster health and node performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Automate deployment processes using Helm and CI/CD pipelines (Tekton/Jenkins).
• Implement and enforce security best practices (Pod Security Policies, Network Policies, Secrets management).
• Troubleshoot pod/container issues and optimize application deployments.
• Coordinate with DevOps, Development, and Security teams to support workloads and service mesh integrations (Istio, Envoy, Consul).
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
• Strong knowledge of RHEL 8/9 administration.
• Experience with system monitoring tools (rsyslog, Nagios, Prometheus, etc.).
• Familiarity with SELinux, firewalld, and security baselines.
• Proficient in bash scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware/KVM) and backup tools.
• Good to have RHCSA or RHCE certifications.
Required Skills (Kubernetes)
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (kubeadm, kubectl, Helm).
• Familiar with container runtimes like Docker, containerd.
• Proficiency in YAML, Helm chart development, and GitOps workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Cloud-native tools experience (Kustomize, cert-manager).
• Good to have CKAD or CKAS certification.
