Marketing Automation Architect
Introduction
Overview
The Marketing Automation Architect is a strategic and technical leader who designs, builds, and optimizes advanced marketing automation solutions-primarily leveraging platforms such as Adobe Marketo Engage, Salesforce, Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). This role is responsible for architecting and optimizing scalable marketing automation solutions that drive demand generation, lead lifecycle management, and personalized customer experiences. The Marketing Automation Architect ensures seamless integration between marketing platforms and CRM systems, enforces data quality standards, and supports the execution of high-performing campaigns across the funnel.
Your role and responsibilities
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Architecture & Integration
- Design and validate scalable marketing automation architectures and proof-of-concept solutions.
- Maintain, enhance, and scale the integrations between marketing automation platforms (for ex, Adobe Marketo Engage) and CRM systems (for ex, Salesforce), databases, and third-party tools-building on the foundational architecture established by the CIO- ensuring continued alignment with business needs, data flow integrity, and campaign execution efficiency.
- Ensure data synchronization, field mapping, and system interoperability across platforms.
Lead Management & Data Governance
- Develop and maintain lead scoring and routing models.
- Oversee lead lifecycle management from acquisition to conversion.
- Implement data governance practices including deduplication, data cleansing, and verification.
- Manage database hygiene and segmentation strategies.
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Architect and execute complex multi-channel nurture programs, triggered campaigns, and engagement workflows. Build and maintain scalable master program templates for nurture journeys, events, product trials, webinars, and thought leadership campaigns.
- Design and implement campaign logic, including dynamic content and personalization.
- Create and manage a scalable library of reusable assets such as forms, landing pages, and email templates (HTML/CSS).
Martech Strategy & Innovation
- Evaluate and implement new marketing technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
- Plan and manage data flow between marketing platforms, analytics tools, and reporting systems.
- Build and maintain integrations for data distribution to BI and reporting tools.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Management
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions through discovery, documentation, and agile delivery processes.
- Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and stakeholders to define project scope and delivery plans.
- Own business objectives during project delivery, managing dependencies and prioritizing tasks across teams. Manage cross-functional projects and guide platform governance, ensuring scalable growth and alignment with business needs.
Analytics & Reporting
- Ensure end-to-end campaign tracking through proper UTM governance, event attribution, and integration with reporting tools.
- Deliver insights and performance reporting for key stakeholders, supporting optimization of marketing ROI and pipeline contribution.

Core Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Adobe Journey Optimizer, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of CRM systems and integration best practices.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for email and landing page development.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and data integration tools (e.g., Zapier, Workato, Segment).
- Deep understanding of lead scoring, ABM, lifecycle management, and segmentation strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communicator, able to bridge marketing, IT, and business teams.
- Knowledge of AI tools and technology
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
