Lead AI Developer

Introduction

Join a new engineering team in Kochi, India, dedicated to accelerating the digital transformation of Source-to-Pay (S2P) through advanced AI and data engineering. You will help build, productionize, and operate agentic AI capabilities using IBM Watsonx Orchestrate as the primary platform, complemented by open-source frameworks. Your work will directly support process optimization and efficiency improvements across procurement and accounts payables.
You will collaborate closely with global teams from S2P, CIO, Chief Data Office, and Consulting, ensuring solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and standards. The role offers the opportunity to translate business challenges into impactful AI use cases, driving measurable business outcomes and value for stakeholders. As part of a dynamic, project-oriented team, you will contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and adaptability, helping shape the future of work in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Your role and responsibilities

• Architect and deliver production-grade AI agents and tools using IBM Watsonx Orchestrate.
• Oversee data pipeline strategy, reliability, and compliance.
• Lead technical innovation and process optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into AI solutions.
• Mentor and coach team members; contribute to hiring and talent development.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise data platform governance and standards.

• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for solutions and processes.

• Develop and maintain a test and evaluation framework to assess performance and quality.

• Design test plans and collaborate with teams to ensure robust and reliable products.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Python development, with a focus on AI and data engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills and expertise in data pipeline development.
• Experience delivering GenAI/agentic AI solutions to production.
• Strong background in platform integration and operational support.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Hands-on experience with IBM Watsonx Orchestrate.
• Experience in matrixed, global environments.
• Track record of aligning engineering work to measurable business outcomes.
